About The Role: 
 

The Deputy Shift Manager will be responsible for supporting the Shift Manager in the coordination and control of incidents, the implementation of the Shift Managers day-to-day operational plans, and managing issues that impact on the contract throughout their tour of duty. The Deputy Manager oversees the delivery, development, performance / measurement and reporting. The position of the Deputy Manager is key to the operational success of the Team to deliver 24/7 Safety, Security and Service by FRG on behalf of WNSL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deputising for and providing resilience to the Shift Manager (note not the staff)

• Ensuring all personnel under their supervision have undertaken the appropriate site training and are in possession of a valid SIA license.

• Proactively monitoring performance of the Security Officers as first line supervisor, maintaining positive employee relations through monthly 1:1’s and ensuring coaching, counselling and any investigations are implemented in line with company policy and procedures as necessary.

• Monitoring and managing the FRG Golden Rules for appearance, behaviours and standards of all Security personnel, taking remedial action as appropriate and in line with company policy and procedures.

• Proactively recognising and recommending staff nominations for recognition and awards.

• Providing supervision to all incidents to ensure they are appropriately managed and investigated. Ensuring actions are undertaken, causes and contributing factors are identified and recorded. Reporting incidents in compliance with customer and company policy and procedures. 

• Contribute to the planning, development and implementing staff training, including both routine duties and emergency procedures. 

• Monitor faults with security related equipment, ensuring they are reported correctly. 

• Being fully conversant with operational functions including Access Control, CCTV, Detection and Alarm Systems, ensuring an effective monitoring and reporting function is maintained. 

• Participate in any arranged company training to improve standards of performance. 

• To be the first point of contact for staff related security function queries resolving queries utilising experience and knowledge referring any complaints with regards to security practices, to the Security Manager. 

• Assist the Operations team with any reasonable or practical request. 

• Be fully conversant with all Client fire, emergency and evacuation procedures. 

• To have a full working knowledge and the ability to monitor all client security technologies, systems and procedures, supervising the operation of, and instructing on complex equipment in a safe and efficient manner, including but not limited to fire alarms, CCTV cameras, perimeter alarm systems and access and egress systems. 

• Ensure there are sufficient officers to cover designated duties. Brief and debrief to ensure officers are fully conversant with their role, current issues and current SOPs’, maintaining good order and discipline throughout. 

• Monitor and investigate all reported incidents and accidents ensuring they are correctly recorded and dealt with.

Requirements:

Essential: 

• Current SIA Door Supervisor Licence and SIA CCTV Licence 

• Have a full 5 year checkable work history. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Competent in MS Word, Excel and E-Mail (Outlook). 

• Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to negotiate and deal with sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion. 

• Experience in the supervision of staff preferable 

• Adaptable and responsive to changes in priorities, plans and schedules.
